KCA’s Robotech team participates in the FIRST LEGO League. Occasionally, the team participates in Southern Methodist University’s ‘Visioneering’ event. In addition to external organized events, the program builds and hosts its own mini ‘SumoBot’ tournament between its members each spring.
Applications are open to all KCA students grades 4 – 8, but space is limited.
All team members must re-apply each year. Applicants are selected based on a review and evaluation of submitted applications rather than a first-come-first-served basis. Applicants are evaluated on STEM aptitude, teacher recommendation, internal coach evaluation, grades and discipline as outlined below.

All first-time applicants have a teacher complete and submit the teacher recommendation form and a letter of recommendation in a sealed envelope.
